Caring For Your Merino Apparel
First of all, Merino wool is delicious. Protect your 100% merino content apparel from moths and silverfish. Camphor balls, moth traps, cedar wood and lavender are great deterrents but must be replaced regularly.
Sealed containers are the best protection.
Merino wool apparel is naturally durable, breathable, and odour-resistant, but proper care will help it stay soft and perform at its best for years.
Wash your Merino garments in cold or lukewarm water on a gentle (delicate / wool) cycle using a mild wool detergent, and avoid bleach or fabric softeners as they can damage the natural fibers.
We recommend liquid detergent to avoid the abrasiveness of powder (before it dissolves).
Turn garments inside out before washing and, whenever possible, place them in a laundry bag for extra protection.
After washing, gently reshape and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight or high heat.
The tumble dryer is the natural enemy of merino!
With the right care, Merino wool remains lightweight, comfortable, and ready for everyday wear or outdoor adventure.
